Lou Nell Baker Coons, age 83, passed away on Saturday January 6, 2018. Lou was born December 2, 1934 to Agnes Olivia Baker and Joseph Price Baker.
Lou worked as a school teacher for Victoria ISD for many years. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and was involved in many church callings.
Lou was preceded in death by her husband Elmo George Coons; parents, Agnes and Joseph; brothers, Richard and Joe Baker.

Lou is survived by her daughter, Terri (Kent) Coons-Scherer; sons, Steven George Coons, Larry Price (Nancy) Coons; sister, Bernice Marie Thompson; grandchildren, Nicole (Ryan) Barnett, Aaron (Whitney) Coons, Harley (Sara) Coons, Brandon (Tabatha) Coons, Joshua Scherer; and 6 great grandchildren.
A visitation for Lou will be held Tuesday, January 9, 2018 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Colonial Funeral Home, 1801 E. Red River St. A Funeral Service will occur Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 3408 N. Ben Wilson. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Victoria, Texas.
Serving as pallbearers are Brandon Coons, Joshua Scherer, Harley Coons, Aaron Coons, Ryan Barnett, Richard Perkins. Honorary pallbearers are Payton Barnett, Tyler Barnett, Mara Coons, Myri Coons, Austin Coons, Grayson Coons, and Harbor Hospice staff.
Memorial Contributions may be made towards Breast Cancer Awareness and the American Diabetes Association.
