Obituary


James H. "Jimmy" Hatch passed away on Tuesday, October 9, 2012. He was born October 29, 1925 to G. W. "Dick" and Frances Bernsen Hatch, a family of five boys and five girls, in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was preceded in death on December 28, 1998, by his loving wife of 43 years, Rita Lowery Hatch, born in New Orleans, Louisiana.
He was a member of Our Lady of Victory Cathedral; a Third Degree Knight with Counsel 1329 and a Fourth Degree Knight, Assembly No. 1126 in the Knights of Columbus.

James H. "Jimmy" Hatch passed away on Tuesday, October 9, 2012. He was born October 29, 1925 to G. W. "Dick" and Frances Bernsen Hatch, a family of five boys and five girls, in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was preceded in death on December 28, 1998, by his loving wife of 43 years, Rita Lowery Hatch, born in New Orleans, Louisiana.
He was a member of Our Lady of Victory Cathedral; a Third Degree Knight with Counsel 1329 and a Fourth Degree Knight, Assembly No. 1126 in the Knights of Columbus.

Jimmy retired from Central Power & Light Company with 42 plus years of service. He proudly served his country during WWII in the US Navy, and was present in Tokyo Bay for the signing of the Peace Treaty. Jimmy enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening and (tongue in cheek) agitating the "sergeant", wife Rita.

He is survived by his son-in-law, Mark Levy of Houston, and his granddaughter, Lisa Levy of Syracuse, New York; two sisters, Grace Hatch Hooper of Corpus Christi and Geraldine Hatch Paquett of Fort Worth; and two brothers, Larry Hatch of Corpus Christi and Johnny Hatch of Trent, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his wife; daughter, Anne Marie Levy; parents; brothers, George and Richard Hatch; and sisters, Dorothy Hatch Cook, Helen Hatch, and Mary Hatch

Visitation will begin at 6:00 pm Thursday, October 11, 2012 at Colonial Funeral Home Chapel. The Rosary will follow at 7:00 pm Thursday. The Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 am Friday, October 12, 2012 at Our Lady of Victory Cathedral. Entombment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery Mausoleum. Jimmy will be laid to rest next to his wife.

Full military honors will be under the Auspices of Victoria County Veterans Council, AL, CWV, VFW, DAV, MCL, MOWW, Ex-POW, MOPH, VVA and the KWV. Serving as pallbearers will be nephew Rickey Hatch, Mike Niesner, Justin Niesner, Louis Polasek, Tommy Dornak, and Dan Respondek. Honorary pallbearers are the Knights of Columbus Counsel 1329 and the Wednesday morning coffee group.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of South Texas, Knights of Columbus Counsel 1329, or donor's choice.
