Obituary


James Arnold Kuhns, 76, received his angel wings on Saturday, March 11, 2017. He was born on April 16, 1940 in Yarmouth, Ontario, Canada to the late Armand Jean and Gladys Smith Kuhns.
James proudly served in the U.S. Army in Fort Hood, Texas entering as a private and promoted to Sargent. He was an expert marksman and received the Good Conduct Medal. He worked for Brown and Root/Union Carbide for 25 years. After retirement, he wanted to stay busy so he worked at Walmart for 15 years.

James proudly served in the U.S. Army in Fort Hood, Texas entering as a private and promoted to Sargent. He was an expert marksman and received the Good Conduct Medal. He worked for Brown and Root/Union Carbide for 25 years. After retirement, he wanted to stay busy so he worked at Walmart for 15 years.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Feliciana Infante Kuhns; daughters, Patricia Kuhns and husband Joe Amaro and Linda Kuhns Reyna, all of Victoria; grandchildren, Ana Amaro, Eric Amaro and wife Corina "Nina", Patrick (Byanka Perez) Amaro, Jessica Reyna and Andrew J. Reyna; and great-grandchildren, Alexi, Josiah and Noah Amaro.
James is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Richard Kuhns, Clifford Kuhns, David Kuhns; and son in-law, Rene Reyna.
The family would like to thank Dr. Rasendu J. Vasavada and the medical staff at Detar Hospital; Dr. David Janssen and the medical staff at Citizens Medical Center Radiation Oncology Department; Doctors and staff at MD Anderson; and Crossroads Home Health for their compassionate care given to James.
A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 from 6 to 8pm at Colonial Funeral Home Chapel to include a Rosary that will be recited at 7:00 pm.
A Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at 9:00 am with Father Jasper Liggio officiating.
Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery with Military Honors under the auspices of the Victoria County Veterans Association.
Pallbearers will be Eric Amaro, Patrick Amaro, Josh Mendoza, Gilbert Villa Sr, Ovidio Torres, Larry Villa, and Mike Villa. Honorary Pallbearers are A.J. Reyna, Tony Rivera, Juan Villa, Bill Deyell, Mac Ramey, James Johnson, Frank Sanchez and Ysidro Deleon.
