Elmo "Bubba" Jones Jr., age 76, of Galveston, passed away Saturday, January 22, 2011. He was born January 11, 1935 in Placedo to the late Nellie Gant and Elmo Jones Sr.. He graduated from Prairie View University, and was a licensed plumber for Todd Shipyard in Galveston for over 20 years. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Bubba enjoyed fishing, and was a big Dallas Cowboys fan.

He is survived by his wife, Angie L. Jones of Galveston; daughters, Stephanie Allen of Georgia and Demetra Dorsey and husband...

He is survived by his wife, Angie L. Jones of Galveston; daughters, Stephanie Allen of Georgia and Demetra Dorsey and husband Eric of Dallas; sons, Elmo Jones III of Dallas, and Carl Jones of Houston; sisters, Artie Barefield of Colorado, Sadie Tucker, and Pinkie Randon and husband Randolph of Sugar Land; 14 grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and daughter, Wanda Boone.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 am Saturday, January 29, 2011 at the Colonial Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Walter Ford officiating. Burial will follow at the Bloomington Community Cemetery with full military honors under Auspices of Victoria County Veterans Council, AL, CWV, VFW, DAV, MCL, MOWW, Ex-POW, MOPH, VVA and the KWV. Serving as pallbearers will be Elmo Jones III, Carl Jones, Eric Dorsey, Ken Randon, Michael Randon, and Randolph Randon.
