Al Krause, age 87, passed away Monday, September 10, 2012. He was born December 15, 1924 in Victoria, Texas to the late Alonzo Robert and Mathilda Bammert Krause.
He was a retired gauger for Mound/Monsanto Corp. He was a member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church. He served in the United States Army during WWII.
Al was very involved in the community. He served as president of the Independent Cattleman's Association for seven years; was a member of the American Legion, VFW, and the Lions Club. He also worked hard to set up the...

Al Krause, age 87, passed away Monday, September 10, 2012. He was born December 15, 1924 in Victoria, Texas to the late Alonzo Robert and Mathilda Bammert Krause.
He was a retired gauger for Mound/Monsanto Corp. He was a member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church. He served in the United States Army during WWII.
Al was very involved in the community. He served as president of the Independent Cattleman's Association for seven years; was a member of the American Legion, VFW, and the Lions Club. He also worked hard to set up the Victoria Western Dance Club.
Al is survived by his wife, Del Krause; daughter, Debra Kay Skewes and husband David of Dublin, Virginia; son, Robert Michael Krause and wife Kathy of Katy; four grandchildren, Mike Krause, Jeff Krause, Drew Skewes, and Angi Simpkins and husband Dwayne; and two great grandsons, Trevor and Ty.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Lenwood Krause and Murray Krause.
Visitation will be held 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm Thursday, September 13, 2012 at Colonial Funeral Home. The Funeral Services will be held 10:00 am Friday, September 14, 2012 at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church with the Rev. John Waak and Rev. Chip Reynolds officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery with full military honors under Auspices of Victoria County Veterans Council, AL, CWV, VFW, DAV, MCL, MOWW, Ex-POW, MOPH, VVA and the KWV.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jeff Krause, Mike Krause, Drew Skewes, Henry Roy Schaar, Lenwood Krause Jr., David Hartman, Tim Rampey, Nathalie Shurber, and Brenda Helweg. Honorary pallbearers include Don Swonke, Roman Lee Bethke, Billy Grickar, Les Fuhrman, James Duge, Dr. Walter Brzozowske, Paul Bittlebrun, The Lawrence Schilhab Family, Our Saviour's Men's Group, and Monica and Staff of Paradise Oaks.
Memorial contributions may be made to Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, Hospice of South Texas, or Paradise Oaks Assisted Living.
